Frequently Asked Questions
What does Overtime do?
Overtime plans per employee, department or company, with rules, reasons and rates - and actual hours recognised against the plan.
What does Overtime not do?
It does not compute pay. The payroll bridge turns recognised hours into money. It does not approve by itself. Approval is the Overtime Approval module. By-plan recognition trusts the plan. Match against attendance or timesheet if you need proof. It does not enforce legal limits alone. Limits and warnings come with the approval module.
Who is Overtime for?
Line manager: Registers the overtime before it is worked. HR: Has one record of who was asked to stay. Payroll: Pays a rate that came from a rule, not from an argument. Management: Sees the cost of overtime as it is committed.
Which Odoo version and editions does it support?
Odoo 18.0 - Odoo Community, Odoo Enterprise, Viindoo Cloud. Upgrades to a newer Odoo series are a separate purchase for that series.
What does it depend on?
It installs on top of: to_base, viin_hr_contract, viin_hr_work_entry_contract. Odoo installs them with it.
How do I set it up?
Three screens.
What works well with it?
Overtime Approval (viin_hr_overtime_approval): Limits, warnings and a sign-off. Overtime Attendance (viin_hr_overtime_attendance): Recognising hours from the clock. Overtime Payroll (viin_hr_overtime_payroll): Paying for them.
